Learnmore Jeremia (LJ)

Learnmore Jeremia (LJ) is a fifth-year graduate student from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina, in 2021, where he conducted research on alkoxysilyl-functionalized epoxy mirrors under the supervision of Dr. K. Lisa Brodhacker. After graduating, Learnmore moved to Atlanta to pursue doctoral studies in organic chemistry at Emory, joining the Wuest Laboratory that same year. His research focuses on the total synthesis and modification of marine-derived cembranoid diterpenes, which exhibit strong antibacterial activity, as well as the development of small-molecule inhibitors of OAS1. Outside of his academic work, LJ is passionate about photography, enjoys watching and playing soccer, and loves walking scenic trails.
