Jacki Smith

 Jacki is a first-year student in the Wuest Lab from Massachusetts. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Northeastern University in 2024. She worked with Prof. Roman Manetsch on the design and synthesis of small molecule antimalarial inhibitors, and gained industry experience at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Takeda Pharmaceuticals. After graduation, Jacki came to Emory to pursue her PhD in organic chemistry and joined the Wuest Lab in 2024. She is currently working on the total synthesis and biological investigation of antibacterial natural products and their analogs. Outside of the lab, Jacki enjoys reading, painting, and traveling with friends!
